Around Yellowstone Conference

Meet the speakers for the Five-Day Academy

The power of the Holy Spirit is alive and at work in preparation for the first Five-Day Academy for Spiritual Formation in Yellowstone Conference, to be held Sept. 6 to 11 at Flathead Lake United Methodist Camp. The Academy has a long history of transforming people of faith and renewing their ministry. The theme for the Yellowstone Five-Day Academy is Sacred Stories: Listening and Sharing, with faculty members Roberta Bondi and Ray Buckley.

School of Congregational Development Satellite Event

The UMC School of Congregational Development will host a Satellite Event from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 15 at First UMC Missoula, Montana. It will feature two outstanding leaders: the Rev. For those too far from Missoula to make it, please still register online and request to have the event live-streamed at your local church. A code for the live-stream will be given along with a $10 refund (cost of lunch) to each church.

Healing Communities Partnership

The Rev. Doug Walker, National Coordinator for Criminal Justice Reform, United Methodist Church General Board of Church and Society, will be coming to Montana this summer to explore developing a partnership between the YACUMC, Freedom in Christ Prison Ministry, and the General Board’s Healing Communities Partnership program. We would like to identify members of our conference with an interest in prison/jail ministry, restorative/transformative justice, and successful re-integration of returning citizens back into Montana communities. Please email Pastor Melanie Martin-Dent, Intentional Interim Pastor, Grace UMC, Dillon to express your interest or learn more about these conversations.
