April 12, 2023 Weekly Update
Greetings church!
Last Sunday was a wonderful celebration of the resurrection of our savior Jesus! Is Christ Risen? As this cartoon reminds us – you betcha! I’m grateful for all our greeters, ushers, a/v helpers, musicians, Ann, and others for offering your gifts, time, and energy during this special season of the year.
Does God love our worship, our prayers, our song? Yes, of course God loves our worship – because God loves us. But worship impacts us, too – the worshippers! Spending that time with God, speaking our prayers, hearing sacred scripture, singing sacred songs – all of it shapes and forms us. Worship activity nudges us gently to be more and more like Jesus. God loves that, too! God’s grace and presence leave a mark on us so that we grow as Easter people who learn to share the power, the love, and the healing of the resurrection every day of our lives.
We are now in the season of Easter, also known as Eastertide. This 50 day time period will culminate on Pentecost Sunday in May when we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. May you seek the shaping and forming of God’s presence in your heart, mind, and soul during the Easter season. Remember, Easter means that no stone is impossible to move. No obstacle will forever stand in the way of transformation and healing.
