This Sunday we will gather in the afternoon at 3pm for our “Music for Missions” event to raise awareness and funds for the 2023 Mountain Sky East Angola Mission Trip. The event will feature a variety of vocal and instrumental music from our congregation and Bigfork United Methodist Church. I will present information about our United Methodist partners in the East Angola Conference and our plans for the trip. And you know what happens when Methodists get together – there’s always food! So come hungry and stay for dinner after the program. A free will offering will be received to support the mission projects of the mission team this summer. We will also have a few small silent auction items.

One of those projects is focused on beginning a new agricultural ministry with chickens. Part of the money raised this Sunday will help us get “Hens for Friends!” Villagers in Angola need sustainable protein to help fight malnutrition, especially among children. Kutela Katembo, the agricultural missionary working in the United Methodist compound at Quessua, is seeking funding to help build chicken coops and raise chickens and eggs. A $10 donation will buy 10 chicks, but Kutela needs thousands of chickens for this project to make a difference.

Come on Sunday afternoon to our “Music for Missions” event to learn more. If you can’t make it, but still want to support the mission team projects, you can give a donation to the office (memo: Music for Missions) or go online to www.columbiafallsumc.org/give and donate to the Music for Missions tab.

Many thanks to our Missions and Worship Teams for coordinating this fundraiser!
