May 31, 2023 Weekly Update
Congratulations to Walton Nichols for receiving our CFUMC 2023 Graduating Senior Scholarship for $800. Pastor Jared presented the scholarship to Walton at the Columbia Falls High School’s Senior Awards Night on May 24. Graduating seniors were awarded over $6 million dollars in financial aid and scholarships this year, a new record for the high school.
In addition to receiving our congregation’s scholarship and other scholarships, Walton also received one of five $1000 scholarships from the new Winslow Nichols Memorial Scholarship Fund. Walton and the other four student recipients were nominated and chosen by CFHS faculty and staff. The fund awards scholarships using criteria that reflect the life of Winslow: integrity, resilience, leadership, work ethic, consideration for others, citizenship, and adventure.
