January 10, 2024 Weekly Update

Jared   -

Last Sunday we wrapped up our worship series “How Does a Weary World Rejoice?” I sincerely hope you benefited from reflecting on the truth that God chose to be born as vulnerable baby Jesus into a weary world among us.

As we begin a new year – full of new promise and new concerns – I share this poem with you. Someone offered this during our Care Team meeting on Monday during our devotion time. It reminds me that amidst the anxious and chaotic moments of our lives and our world, we were created to rejoice in our relationships with God and one another.

The poem is by Hafez, a 14th century Iranian mystical poet and writer. The frigid temps will slow us all down over the next few days. Stay warm and safe, and spend a few moments to ponder these words. Remember that you were created for joy.

Grace & Peace,
Pastor Jared
