Hello church!
Thanks to all who attended our Town Hall Lunch and Capital Campaign Information Session last Sunday. Below you’ll see important reminders about our annual campaign and capital campaign.
What does it look like to trust God as we reimagine the broken systems of our world? We reflected on that question last Sunday through the idea of Jubilee from Leviticus and the story of the poor widow in Mark’s gospel. Widows, orphans, and people with disabilities were to be cared for through safety nets of systems, but those systems were no longer working. This is the hypocrisy that Jesus and the prophets had been highlighting for centuries. Reimagination was required.
The miracles of Jesus feeding the 5000, healing those with disease, and sharing the meal with those who will betray him reimagines a different system of a new and coming kingdom – a deepened connection with God and neighbor that prioritizes sharing, distributing resources, and caring for vulnerable people.
Our Capital Campaign is helping us reimagine the needs and priorities of our building and ministries so that we can be faithful to the next generation of our church. Help us continue to be a strong and vibrant presence among ourselves and our broader community.
I look forward to worshipping with you this Sunday at 11am – in person or online!
Blessings,
Pastor Jared
