Happy Wednesday Church,
First of all, thank you all for surprising me last Sunday with fun and functional Pastor Appreciation Emergency Car gear. I appreciate the gifts and cards, and most of all I appreciate you all! Thank you!
Today I am headed to Salt Lake City for our Mountain Sky Annual Conference Clergy Orders Retreat at Christ UMC. Our guest speaker is Mark Brechin, a United Methodist Creation Justice Ambassador and pastor of First UMC, Sonora Texas. He will guide our elders, deacons, and licensed local pastors through the theme of “Spiritual Geography.” We will reflect on the sacred relationship between place, memory, vocation and the movement of God through our lives. Mark’s reflections will invite clergy to notice the terrain beneath their feet and to consider the places, people and seasons that have shaped the ministers they are becoming.
I look forward to worshipping with you on Sunday when we celebrate Laity Sunday and a Quiet Disciple with the Quiet Disciple Award.
Blessings,
Pastor Jared
