Hello church!
This Sunday we begin a thought-provoking new worship series entitled “Quest: The Awakened Traveler.” Whether you travel far away or see your local surroundings as if for the first time, pilgrimage has long been a spiritual practice, and “Journey” a deeply-felt metaphor for our spiritual lives with Jesus.
“Quest” comes from the Latin root meaning “ask, seek.” This four-week worship series will encourage us to open ourselves more fully to the curiosity and wonder, reflection and transformation that travelers–not merely tourists–experience when they choose to immerse themselves in soul-widening adventures. We will be challenged to widen our perspectives and love our neighbors. Each week will feature a video clip from PBS travel guru Rick Steves. Rick did an interview with the UMC’s General Board of Higher Ed and Ministry a number of years ago entitled “Travel as a Spiritual Act.”
Whether you’re planning a trip for autumn or next year, fresh off your latest travels, or just glad the tourist surge in the Flathead is tapering off, you’re invited to this series starting Sunday at 11:00am. See you in person or online!
