Hello church!
After worship and our monthly birthday/anniversary celebration last Sunday, our Leadership Board headed to our fall planning retreat. With extra church coffee and Halloween M&M’s (Thank you Diane!), we spent all afternoon together, discerning the narrative of money, generosity, and stewardship in our congregation. Spoiler alert: the word “generous” came up a lot!
This is an exciting time in the life of our congregation. We have new ministry meeting new people in our community. We are grounded in a faith of compassion, justice, and God’s steadfast love. In the midst of unprecedented and trying times, we are living our values and standing with other United Methodists in our region to help expand God’s kin-dom.
In a few weeks, our Leadership Board will share our discernment with the congregation as part of our annual stewardship series. If you’ve felt outside of the rhythm of church or the news flow, now’s the time to jump in. You don’t want to miss being part of our next steps as God’s people in Columbia Falls.
And save the date: The Leadership Board will host a Town Hall Potluck after worship on Sunday November 2nd at 12pm. Our usual birthday celebration will include information sharing about the launch of our capital campaign, and we’ll give space for folks to ask questions or be curious!
Until then, please keep our Leadership Board in your prayers as we listen for God’s Spirit to guide us.
Blessings,
Pastor Jared
