Hello church!

Last Sunday, we celebrated Consecration Pledge Sunday and wrapped up our Stewardship worship series “Our Money Story.” It was an inspiring service that reminded us of the depth and breadth of our local ministry at CFUMC, and called us to continue forward because “God has work for us to do!” If you missed worship, here’s a link to a 3-minute YouTube video of another soloist performing the special music we heard in worship. May it be a musical blessing for you today. https://youtu.be/Bq0rTaQAjR4?si=QOLr4axu1fpn-lYx

Our theme last Sunday focused on giving ourselves to God’s work of restoration through the church and into the world. The abundance of fish in the disciples’ nets was met with a call from Jesus to “feed my sheep.” The scriptures over the last four weeks remind us that God is always working to restore what is broken – within us, among us, and through us. As we practice the generosity of our gifts, our skills, and our time, we participate in the divine work of healing and wholeness.

Artist Hannah Garrity created the beautiful image of fish in a net above. She writes, “In the artwork, patterned fish represent the miracle that Jesus performed that morning so many years ago. This miracle convinced the disciples that they must tell the story of Jesus and act out the love Jesus modeled. This miracle continues to inspire us to contribute and act as God’s disciples in this critical time for humanity.”

Blessings,

Pastor Jared
