Merry Christmas church!
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve worship service last week. It is so heartwarming to gather, sing, listen to the noises of children, and light candles as we celebrate the birth of Christ! I’m so grateful to all who helped make our service so special – our ushers, greeters, musicians, audio/visual crew, decorators, luminary lighters, and Ann in the office! It wouldn’t be possible without so many selfless and willing servants, so THANK YOU!
Next Sunday we will celebrate Epiphany and conclude our worship series “What Do You Fear?” by lifting up the story of the Wise Men. As we take holy communion, you’ll be invited to pick a Star Word for the year ahead as an intention to listen to God’s spirit in a different way. Can’t be here next week? We’ll leave some star words in the sanctuary for you to grab later.
As we continue in the Christmas season, I leave you with a poem by Madeline L’Engle. Without using the word ‘hope,’ Madeline’s poem reminds us of the hope God brings at Christmas through the incarnate birth of Christ Jesus. I invite you to take a sacred pause and reflect on these words in the week ahead.
Christmas blessings,
Pastor Jared
