Hello church family!

As Jesus begins his Sermon on the Mount, the Beatitudes (Blessed are you when…) offer his poetic description of an upside-down world in which followers of Christ are blessed in spite of challenges. Jesus calls his followers salt and light, empowering them live differently and resist the status quo that challenges the kingdom of God.

As our days grow longer, we’re beginning to see more light on our physical horizon. But in a world that feels upside down sometimes, it can feel difficult to magnify the light of Christ within us. Remember that light scattered everywhere can lose its power. Jesus invites us not into burnout or isolation, but into shared purpose—being shaped by community so that Christ’s light shines clearly through us.

I invite you to lift up this prayer today and meditate on this scripture verse in the graphic above. May God guide us and be present with us in our challenges, helping us remember that we are blessed in spite of what the world may tell us.

Blessings,

Pastor Jared
